The goal of Ozark Children’s Choir is to provide an opportunity for children in our community to attain formal choral training and performance experience while developing an appreciation for music. The program is designed to help children find their voice. The program will build character, teach self-discipline, respect for others, and instill good work ethic. Children will gain confidence, poise, and a real sense of accomplishment while learning the foundations of singing, reading music and music theory. The program is available for children in grades 2-6.

All auditions and rehearsals held at the Lyric Theater unless otherwise noted.

Open Auditions for potential new choir members:
Auditions are very simple. Each student will be required to sing one song for the director (typically, “Happy Birthday”).

• Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at 4pm
• POSTPONED: Monday, January 11, 2010 at 6pm
• Monday, January 18, 2010 at 6pm

Rehearsals - Mondays, 4:30-6pm:

• First rehearsal: Monday, September 14, 2009
  All Parents please attend an information meeting at the beginning of rehearsal.
• Monday, October 26 – Fall Break; no rehearsal
• Monday, December 7 – Christmas Party
• No rehearsals month of December
• First rehearsal: Monday, January 11, 2010
• Monday, March 22 - Spring Break; no rehearsal
• Last rehearsal: Monday, May 11, 2010
• Monday, May 10 – Spring Party

Please note: The OCC will not hold rehearsals if Harrison schools are closed (holidays, inclement weather, etc.)

Performances:

• Sunday, December 6, 2009 at 2pm
• Saturday, May 8, 2010 at 7pm

Tuition

Tuition is $270 per participant. (If you have more than one child in the group, the cost is $250 per student.) The tuition fee includes all programming costs: professional instruction, music facility fee, cost(s) associated with performances, shirts, and more.

Tuition can be paid in 5 monthly installments of $54.00 each. You will need to arrange with the OAC office.

A very limited number of scholarships will be made available for this year. If you applied for a scholarship, the scholarship committee is in the process of reviewing these applications, and you will be notified before the first rehearsal with the decision.
