Tickets are $5 for adults and $2 for children 12 and under

If you are anywhere near the Lyric Theater on Monday afternoons, it is quite possible you’ve already heard the sounds of Christmas! The Ozark Children’s Choir has been preparing for an exciting season of concerts and special events.

Bruce Salsman directs the 35-voice choir, with accompaniment by Rick Whitmer. The concert will feature a wide variety of Christmas music – contemporary, traditional, familiar, and new, including "It's Snow Wonder", "God Rest You Merry, Gentlemen", and "You're a Mean One Mr. Grinch".

Special parts will be sung by Austin Rowe, Britt Ryan, Matthew Webb, Blake Whitmer, and Jordan Whitmer, for "It's Snow Wonder"; Hannah Baker, Annemarie Eaton, Meghan Frazier, Sophie Johnson, Anna Mathis, Hannah Smith, Marissa Straub, and Madyson Wood, for "Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let it Snow!"; and Britt Ryan for "Once Upon a Manger Still".

The event will also feature a scene from The Theatre Company’s upcoming production of A Christmas Carol and a few surprises from the community.

The Christmas concert is just the beginning for the Ozark Children's Choir. The choir will travel on a float for the Harrison Regional Chamber of Commerce Christmas Parade on Monday, December 7. Community leaders from Harrison’s service clubs, Kiwanis, Lions, and Rotary, will be treated to Christmas concerts from these young ambassadors of Christmas joy.

To help raise funds to support the program, the choir will be at Colton’s Steakhouse on Tuesday, December 15, with a performance at 6pm. Choir members will take peanuts to tables and serenade the diners, and will receive a percentage of the day’s sales.

January is a brand new year. Open auditions for the Spring semester of the Ozark Children’s Choir will take place at the Lyric on Monday, January 4, 2010 at 4:30pm.

The OCC is also accepting invitations for performing at community, civic, and business events in the Spring.
