The Ozark Children's Choir, a new program of the Ozark Arts Council, presented their first public performance, Hometown Christmas, on Sunday, December 7 at 2pm in the historic Lyric Theater. The 27 members of the choir sang favorite Christmas tunes like Jingle Bell Dash and Peaceful, Silent Night and received a standing ovation.
"Hometown Christmas had a little something for everyone," said Bruce Salsman, Director for the Ozark Children’s Choir. "Go, Tell It on the Mountain featured beautiful solos by Jordan Whitmer and Mason Skiles, and You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch even resulted in a special appearance by you-know-who."
Colton’s of Harrison and General Manager Shannon Cox showed their support, donating 10% of all December 8 sales to the Ozark Arts Council. Modern Woodmen of America matched that amount dollar for dollar.
The Choir also participated in the Chamber of Commerce Christmas Parade.
